About Mae

As a small flower farm and a small business owner, the margins of profit are not large but I have found that the risks and hard work are well worth the effort. I appreciate all the work - the seeding, weeding, harvesting, selling and, of course, meeting people.

With the background in arts and design, from studying fine arts in college to working alongside other artists and designers. I worked in the different industries of designs from being a graphic artist in the Philippines for a couple of years and a Retail florist and Customer service representative when I moved to Singapore for many years before embarking on my career as a floral designer/ flower grower, I also learn the basic horticulture, realized the importance of small organic and diversified how to grow your own flowers, and was inspired to create my own. It gave me a great creative outlet and a little something for myself while juggling the role of being a mother and a wife.

When I found my new home in New Zealand in 2016 the natural beauty of the country inspired me and began incorporating local characteristic
of New Zealand into my designs. With the help of my husband Glen as my team mate, we work side by side by planning, planting, picking, conditioning and designing. From spring to autumn and during the winter months, we sell dried stocks bouquets and arrangements. So flowers are available year round.

​I am very grateful for the gift of creativity and the team of people that I work with to create beauty. It has given me the tools to become independent and to truly find strength through adversity. It has been a soulful journey that I would not change in a million years. It is funny how experience in life can lead you to new passions but still incorporate all of what makes us who we are and what we do.

For me, farming is a way of life- a re-connection to the cycles of life. I always wanted to work with my hands, be outside, and be of service to people and the planet. I love sharing the love for flowers and creativity, so please do get in touch with all your flower needs!
